    Site Manager - Raise Academy - Widnes (The Raise Academy)

    TheRaise Academy is a brand-new school opening in September 2024. The school willspecialise in supporting up to 64 pupils aged

    TheRaise Academy pupils will have the opportunity to be engaged in a wide range ofvocational and practical subjects that will give them new opportunities toprogress personally, socially and academically.

    The curriculum will beunderpinned by high quality and supportive Maths, English and Science and alllessons will be taught in small classes of up to 8 pupils, with teachers,learning mentors and pastoral/teaching assistants.

    Responsiblefor:
    Cleaners, and on-site Contractors
    Openingup and locking up the school site each day during school term time

    Toensure security of the site, both during and after the school day to ensure allpeople on site are safe, and the building is secure.

    Tokeep a record of all key holders and manage key holder permissions along withthe Office Manager to ensure the site is secure and safe.

    Tomanage and maintain all security and alarm systems including keyholder contactsecurity system, CCTV, maglock door permissions, etc.

    Beaware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding;and data protection and report all concernsto an appropriate person.

    Ensureall risk assessment actions are completed in a timely manner and recorded onthe Trust's H&S compliance system
    Tomanage an appropriate cleaning schedule and oversee quality of cleaning in theschool
    Makesure school security and health and safety policies are in place and followed
    Managethe completion and regular review of all site/building related riskassessments
    Implementany 'reasonable adjustments' under Equality Act 2010 needed for staff or pupils
    Conductregular H&S meetings with the Office Manager, recording concerns and adviseHeadteacher/ H&S Governor with the minutes of these meeting, ensuring allstandards are met
    Ensureweekly/monthly/quarterly checks and external servicing is carried out on allfire safety systems including call points, emergency lighting, extinguishers,etc
    Ensureinduction given to all staff, fire wardens trained etc.
    Ensurethere is a regular fire drills programme in place – record kept of drills andany issues addressed


    Siteand Assets:
    Tomaintain the School's Asset Register and to ensure new assets are recordedappropriately on the Trust's asset management system

    Tomanage the loan of any of the school's assets and ensure the relevantdocumentation is completed in line with the relevant procedure.

    Toassist the Office Manager with bookings and marketing of community lettings
    Tomanage grounds maintenance and ensure a welcoming, safe environment, and anexcellent first impression for pupils, staff and visitors.
    Promoteequality, diversity and inclusion and demonstrate this within the role.
    Tobe jointly responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of pupils

    Activelycontribute to improving teaching and learning for pupils and the SchoolDevelopment Plan in any way appropriate for the Site Manager Role.

    Toacknowledge the need for and practice confidentiality, in regard to handlingsensitive information pertaining to pupils, staff or school matters/issues.

    Toassist around the school and social times including mixing with staff andpupils and helping to set up and clear away mess after break times
    Tobe flexible with hours worked to ensure appropriate security measures are inplace.
    Accessto training and CPD including further professional qualifications.

    Advancedskills and experience in Joinery, electrical, plumbing, building, etc

    UseDIY skills to fix issues and repair damage – basic skills essential(fixing/replacing sockets, plastering/patching, painting and decorating,putting up shelves / displays / wall mounted TV's, etc)
    Communicateeffectively to groups and individuals, orally and in writing
    Demonstratea flexible approach and a willingness to listen to others
    Protectsensitive data and work with data protection standards and GDPR.
    Commitmentto the school's ethos, aims and its whole community (essential)
