    Education/Experience

    Essential criteria

  • First level registration with post registration qualification appropriate to speciality
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • •Teaching and assessing qualification
  • •Communication skills training

    • Desirable criteria

  • Advanced communication skills training
  • •Non-medical Prescribing qualification
  • •Masters level study

    • Knowledge and Experience

    Essential criteria

  • •Relevant post registration experience at band 6 or above in this or appropriate speciality
  • •Previous experience in a post involving clinical and managerial responsibilities.
  • •Previous experience of teaching and developing teaching materials
  • •Demonstrate evidence of well-developed clinical practice
  • •Ability to deal with complex patient care including symptom control, discharge planning and psychological support

    • Desirable criteria

  • •Conversant with the key principles of clinical governance

    • Skills, Abilities and attributes

  • •Ability to communicate unpleasant /difficult information to patients in a variety of settings with sensitivity.
