The Role: As Head of Modern Foreign Languages, you will lead and manage our dynamic MFL department, overseeing the delivery of high-quality French and Spanish language education. Responsibilities include:

Providing strategic leadership and direction for the MFL department, setting ambitious goals and objectives to drive improvement and innovation.
Leading a team of dedicated MFL teachers, providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to ensure the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning.
Developing a challenging and engaging MFL curriculum that meets the needs of all students and promotes a love for languages.
Monitoring student progress and attainment within the MFL department, implementing interventions and strategies to support the achievement of academic targets.
Collaborating with colleagues across the school to promote cross-curricular links and enrich the language learning experience for students.
Playing an active role in the wider life of the school, contributing to extracurricular activities, events, and school initiatives.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant teaching qualification.
Significant experience teaching French and Spanish at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
Proven leadership experience within an MFL department or similar role.
A track record of achieving excellent results in MFL examinations, with a commitment to raising standards and driving improvement.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and students.
A passion for languages and a commitment to promoting cultural understanding and appreciation.
The ability to lead and manage change effectively, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
