    Civils / General Operative (PTS)

    Rail / Civil Engineering

    Regional Office – Barnsley

    Site Based – Nationwide

    Multiple opportunities available for Civils Operatives required to join our site delivery team in the Engineering business unit dedicated civils projects and maintenance of Historic Rail Estates. Working in teams to deliver reactive and planned maintenance schemes and remits, the work will be varied / general civils. Excellent prospects to join and develop within an established and growing business.

    Business Unit

    A busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works on behalf of various clients delivering engineering maintenance and infrastructure on a portfolio of civil engineering projects at power stations and on the railway.

    The Role

    As Civils Operative you will ensure the completion of designated tasks on site under the supervision of the Site Foreman, ensuring the works are completed without harm to people, the environment and targeting zero defects. Day to day duties and responsibilities will typically include but not be limited to:

    • Operate and carry out job set tasks.
    • Ensure have been briefed and understand all relevant risk and method statements.
    • Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out Checks on any equipment that may use.
    • Ensure safe tidy place of work.
    • Ensure the completion of works is on time.
    • Implement best practice procedures.
    • Maximise use of own working time.
    • Ensure signed up to all permits and briefings before commencing any work.
    • Communication with site management.
    • Communicate with site supervisor on any concerns.
    • Feedback to site management with near miss reporting.
    • Ensure attend all site briefings and forums.
    • Other tasks as may from time to time be deemed necessary and are authorised by line managers

    Requirements

    Experienced Operatives with experience of works such as civil ground works (Drainage, Kerbing, Brick work, Road Formation etc).

    • PTS
    • COSS
    • CSCS
    • Plant Tickets
