We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our strong and progressive Urgent Care Service in Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh.

We believe in treating the whole person, not just the condition, so we provide flexible and holistic care in a range of community settings. You will share the CARE values of the trust and work within a close-knit group of people who bring the feeling of community through their hard work and dedication to the people of the area.

Community is the heart of our trust and we are working with primary care colleagues locally to respond to the needs of our patients and we want you to be part of this change.

Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh is made up of a diverse patient group with complex needs and by working in a community-based way we can ensure that services are targeted and patient-focused, and we are proactive in our input and response.

From the beginning of your journey in occupational therapy, we want to support you to become excellent clinicians.

    Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist you will play a vital role in our multidisciplinary team (MDT); managing patients with complex needs in the community.

You'll have the autonomy to plan care in your own way, with time to develop your assessment and treatment skills, and access to structured supervision and a clinical lead to make sure you are received the support necessary.

You'll be supporting junior colleagues with clinical development, helping them to reach their potential and develop the workforce of the future. You will use your clinical judgment to support evidence-based care planning and make sure that people who use our services receive the highest possible care. As part of the 2-hour response directive, we are a fast-paced team that provides high impact intervention with a goal to avoid hospital admission and aim for patients to stay in their homes where possible.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will ensure safe treatment of frail and vulnerable patients within the community.

Your role will predominantly be crisis prevention, including various assessments and equipment provision to ensure patient safety in a community setting.

You will be required to drive between patient homes and work sites and will need to provide your own transport to achieve this.

We as a trust believe in developing our talent from within so will always support with learning, development and progression. Learn more about our career pathways below
