Description:
Lockton are currently recruiting a Product Owner to join the team in London to take ownership of our flagship and key platform, Assure Broking.
Role purpose
The Product Owner is focused on defining and executing the short
- and long-term vision and strategy for Lockton and its instance of the Assure Broking platform. They will partner with the UK and European business, Technology and Digital divisions and our delivery partners to drive the adoption of Assure Broking and enhance the platform in support of Lockton's ongoing growth and strategic needs.
Reporting to the Head of Digital they will play an important role in the future strategy and delivery of the platform and with the role primarily focused on the UK/European operation, parts of Lockton International are looking at this platform in future years and being the pre-eminent expert on the tool brings the obvious potential benefits.
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap and strategic vision for the platform
- Ownership of the product backlog; ensure that the backlog is in alignment to the overarching strategy and prioritised to ensure maximum value, ensure that backlog items/user stories/requirements are well written, understood, capture business value and meet the definition of ready
- Partner with the Business and Technology to develop the strategic vision for the product, gaining buyin, providing feedback, setting and managing expectations, communicating release plans etc
- Work with our thirdparty strategy and development teams to shape and align the product to Lockton's needs balancing this against general market requirements and any specialist capability Lockton/the Product Owner sees as necessary for how we operate
- Communicate product vision to the wider business and technology ensure they understand the goals, clearly communicate business requirements, work with them during the development cycle to ensure that requirements are understood, and features are being developed as expected, contribute towards team improvements in terms of practices, delivery, training and adoption
- Engage with users of the product proactively get feedback on features, usability, ideas for future development. Collate and manage feedback
- Liaise and coordinate with other teams where required e.g., Training, Internal Marketing & Comms, Operations etc.
- Coordinate launch activities and manage business adoption process
- Track performance and manage pipeline and backlog
- Previous experience as a Product Owner/Manager
- Insurance experience knowledge of London Market a plus but not essential
- Strong negotiating and vendor management/relationship skills
