McLaughlin & Harvey are one of the leading Building and Civil Engineering Contractors operating throughout the UK and Ireland. Group Turnover is in excess of £500m. The group reports significant profits and sits on sizeable cash balances.

We are seeking to recruit a Accounts Administrator to join our Finance team based in Belfast.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Processing new starters and leavers
  • Processing any pay related changes
  • Processing any nonpay related changes ie pension, payroll deductions


  • Processing of overtime

  • Processing of sick, maternity and paternity leave
  • Assisting in the running of the subcontract ledger
  • Logging subcontract certificates onto finance system (COINs)
  • Updating internal SCOPE system
  • Assisting in payment runs


  • Answering supplier queries

  • Working closely with commercial department
  • Subcontractor maintenance and updating of subcontractor insurances
  • Assisting purchase ledger function if/when required
  • Expenses cover
  • Opening and distributing post
  • Covering switchboard when required
  • Competent in Excel, Word and other computer packages
  • Attention to detail
  • Relevant payroll experience would be desirable
  • Experience of working in a similar sector preferable but not essential
