- Provide effective leadership and management of the residential care home, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the 4-bedroom home, including staffing, rotas, and shift patterns, to ensure the highest standards of care and support are maintained at all times.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to support the delivery of a therapeutic approach to care that meets the individual needs of each child or young person.
- Create and maintain a therapeutic environment within the home, fostering a sense of safety, trust, and emotional well-being for all residents.
- Lead and motivate a team of care staff, providing regular supervision, support, and training to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver exceptional care within a therapeutic framework.
- Build positive relationships with external agencies, including Ofsted, local authorities, health professionals, and other stakeholders, to promote the welfare and best interests of the children and young people in our care.
- Prepare for and participate in Ofsted inspections, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met and that the home receives a positive evaluation.
- Manage the home's budget effectively, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately to meet the needs of the children and young people in our care while maintaining financial sustainability.
- Implement strategies to achieve and maintain a good or outstanding Ofsted rating, with the possibility of an incentive for achieving outstanding ratings.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a children's residential care setting.
- A relevant qualification in social work, childcare, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare).
- Experience with Ofsted inspections and interviews, with a proven track record of achieving positive outcomes.
- Knowledge of therapeutic approaches to working with children and young people who have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences.
- Experience in creating and maintaining a therapeutic environment within a residential care setting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to manage resources and budgets effectively.
- Salary range: £50,000 to £65,000 per annum (commensurate with experience) as well as incentives/bonuses involved in key targets met that are set by director such as meeting a "good" or "outstanding" Ofsted inspection and another key target with incentives is to remain below/ within budgets that are set within the home.
