    Job Summary

    The DevOps Engineer will be pivotal in optimizing the software engineering processes and tools used for real-time financial trading systems at our hedge fund. This role focuses on improving the speed, efficiency, and reliability of both development and operations, integrating cutting-edge technologies into our financial systems, and ensuring the high availability and security essential to the financial markets.

    Responsibilities

    1. CI/CD Pipelines:
      Develop and maintain robust continuous integration and deployment pipelines to support high-frequency trading applications.
    2. Infrastructure as Code:
      Manage cloud-based infrastructure and on-premises resources using automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
    3. Real-Time System Monitoring:
      Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions to ensure system performance and reliability, detect anomalies, and facilitate rapid response to any issues.
    4. Collaboration with Development and QA Teams:
      Work closely with developers and QA teams to ensure efficient development environments and the seamless integration of new code into production.
    5. Security Compliance:
      Maintain and enforce security standards required by regulatory bodies; manage access controls, vulnerability assessments, and security audits.
    6. Performance Optimization:
      Optimize system configurations to manage load and latency to meet the demands of high-speed trading.
    7. Disaster Recovery and Backup:
      Design and manage strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of hardware failure or other disruptions.

      Required Skills and Qualifications

    8. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
    9. Extensive experience in DevOps environments, preferably in financial services or other high-stakes, security-conscious sectors.
    10. Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
    11. Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and other container management solutions.
    12. Deep understanding of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or Travis CI.
    13. Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and managing secure cloud infrastructures.
    14. Knowledge of network security, data encryption, and secure coding practices.
    15. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Desirable Skills
    16. Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Administrator, or similar.
    17. Experience with financial software or real-time transaction processing systems.
