Senior Management Accountant
We are very excited to be partnering with a start-up business based in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey who are looking for a qualified accountant to join them as Senior Management Accountant on a permanent basis.
This job would suit a qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years' post qualification experience within a finance department.
They will be accountable for supporting the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial information to thesenior management team, including data entry, management accounts, annual results and ad hoc financial duties.
This company is a global freight business who is backed by a serial successful entrepreneur who already has successful businesses in very similar industries.
They have grown to 66 employees worldwide and are looking for a Senior Management Accountant tojoin them on this journey.
You will report to the Financial Controller and there would be real opportunity to develop your career quickly.
The successful individual will have exposure to a multi-currency operating environment with FX considerations, as well as multi-site/entity groups and associated intercompany issues being an advantage.
For this role you will need good understanding of internal controls and process systems, as well as experience of complex financial modelling with regard to forecasting/budgets.
You will need tohave excellent knowledge of Excel, and good communication skills are a must to be able to communicate and present financial information to non-financial employees at all levels.
Exposure to VAT and international transport business sector experience a distinctadvantage. Engineering Stock inventory experience is desirable.Job responsibilities:
- Forming an effective link between finance and other business departments.
- Assist the FC as part of the finance team in the preparation of the monthly management accounts.
- Work closely with the FC in variance reporting and identification of cost/revenue drivers.
- Assist the FC as part of the finance team in budgeting and forecasting preparation exercises.
- Assist the FC in maintaining and improving existing financial/budget models.
- Assist in revenue, costing scenarios and business case modelling.
- Assist the FC in bid and pricing scenarios.
- Take responsible for accurate cost reporting including allocation methodologies within Dynamics 36
- Understand the functionality of Dynamics 365 to become the 'in house source of knowledge' on its functionality and the structure of the business accounting set up.
- Understand the reporting functionality of Dynamics 365 and exploit this to meet and drive business information needs.
- Assist the FC as part of the finance team with yearend audit and tax work.
- Assist the Financial Accountant in stock accounting matters.
- Aid in general accounting and ad hoc reporting.
- Ensure and monitor compliance with internal controls.
- Contributing to ad hoc reporting, project work and cost analysis and reduction reviews.
- Assisting the FC in systems and financial/admin process creation, implementation, review and improvement.
