    Job Description Senior Broadcast Journalist, London Live

    Reports to:
    Head of News

    Available on Freeview Channel 8, Sky 117, Virgin 159 and truly multiplatform from launch, London Live broadcasts a mix of original entertainment programming, live events and music, cutting edge film making and documentaries, alongside 1 hour of live news every day.

    This role is within the London Live News Team and will support the making of the News and Current affairs content as well as the hire of the studio to external clients.

    This is a key role within our News team working both in the office/studio and remotely.

    You will get involved in all stages of the production process from coming up with initial pitches and stories, filming and interviewing, writing scripts, editing final pieces and presenting the New at Six show.

    There will be opportunities to do on-screen reporting, presenting and producing/outputting of the News at Six programme.

    A competent broadcast journalist with a relevant journalism qualification.
    Newsroom experience with an in-depth knowledge of media law and ethics.

    Ability to work alone and as part of a team to create video content and scripts for our linear and social media channels.

    Be comfortable working some anti-social hours on occasion for major events.
    Help pitch, plan and book guests for future shows, editorially decide what will work for our viewers
    Carry out remote and in-person interviews to later be broadcast on TV or social media platforms
    Self-shooting and editing short form pieces for TV and social platforms, using Premiere Pro Writing and updating scripts/presenter cues

    A graduate or postgraduate journalism qualification with sound understanding of media law and Ofcom requirements, minimum 4-5 years experience preferable.

    Proven track record of creating edited packages for TV broadcast.

    Good knowledge of London and what's happening on the local news agenda Ensure legal and taste and decency obligations are adhered to.

    Excellent writing skills and a good understanding of news production.
    Experience filming with a point and shoot or DSLR camera
    Experience video editing using Premiere Pro or similar.
    A good broadcast voice or previous on camera experience would be an advantage.
