    (Senior) Research Analyst - Beauty and Personal Care, Japan

    Mintel is also a leader in providing market intelligence and consumer insights in North Asia, and building on the success of Mintel's China reports business, the company is also looking to expand into other markets in Asia in the next few years, notably Japan.

    We are now looking for a passionate Research Analyst to join our growing team at our Tokyo office. This opportunity will offer you the chance to develop your own expertise in the Japan FMCG sectors, whilst giving you the opportunity to interact with and influence the world's largest consumer brands, marketing, and advertising agencies.

    What You Will Be Doing

    Content publishing: Mintel's Syndicated Reports are covering a variety of Japanese consumer markets identifying the key issues facing global and domestic trends, manufacturers, suppliers and retailers

  • Write and publish 5-6 Syndicated Reports a year, increasing to 6-7 reports in year 2 as analysts develop experience and efficiency
  • Responsible for the whole process of report publishing, under the supervision of the Category Director;
  • Define the report scope, upon trade interview results
  • Design and execute consumer quantitative research together with the research operation team
  • Gather primary and secondary data related to global trends both from open sources & Mintel internal assets
  • Analyze all information, develop inferences, and generate insights with solid business implications
  • Construct and write the contents in Japanese
  • Work with the Digital Publishing team for final publication preparation (copyedit, design, translation, etc.)
  • This role involves networking with Mintel's global category analysts to stay updated about the latest information

    • Who We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum two years of working experience in any of the below functions consumer research, marketing intelligencemarketing, strategic planningcommunication, promotion planning
  • trade analysis, sales planning, channel marketing
  • Strong motivation for content writing in the subject area
  • Good understanding of data analysis
  • Constructive & logical thinker
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Great interpersonal skills with an open & global mindset
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously & to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent Japanese writing and speaking
  • English; Reading- Business level/ Writing, Speaking, Listening-Communication level
  • With specialized knowledge & understanding in Beauty and Personal Care, Food and Drinks, or other B2B retailing topics
