Finance & Accounts Manager


Established, ambitious, prestige independent UK retail business of c.£5m turnover and 40 staff is looking to embark upon its next stage of growth and requires a Finance & Accounts Manager to support its journey.


Reporting direct to the company's owner/managers in an autonomous role, yet very much part of a collaborative wider team, you will be responsible for the financial and management accounting for the business each month.

The business is looking to gain bettervisibility on all aspects of financial reporting which will also require some creation of such systems and procedures for month and year end reporting.

Your key responsibilities as Finance & Accounts Manager will include:

  • Producing monthly management accounts
  • Financial planning, forecasting and budget preparation
  • Cost analysis (alongside the Buying department)
  • Processing invoices
  • Reconciling accounts
  • Making payments
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Managing stock costs
  • Managing a small monthly payroll and year end procedures

As Finance & Accounts Manager you'll need:

  • A strong breadth and depth of experience gained in a hands-on Finance Manager, Accounts Manager, Accountant, Management Accountant, Financial Accountant or Assistant Accountant type role, working in a fast moving service driven environment (industry orpractice)
  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
  • Practical knowledge of Sage exposure to cloud software such as Xero or Quickbooks advantageous
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills, selfmotivation and a positive, cooperative approach
Benefits/rewards
- £35,000 salary plus benefits including product discounts
