The Opportunity

:

Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support.

The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024.

When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Nuclear Compliance Officer, to join our Licencing team which assures compliance with the Nuclear Site Licence (NSL) and its supporting Licence Conditions for SZC.

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home.

We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.

The Role

:

You'll be responsible for leading compliance activities across the SZC project.

Key tasks will include the provision of written and verbal advice on compliance with the NSL to the SZC organisation and any relevant delivery partners ensuring that responsible managers have a clear definition of their compliance arrangements.

You'll lead the assessment of SZC activities to assess compliance position, in accordance with the NSL Compliance Plan, and facilitate Licence Condition self-assessments.

Additionally, you'll lead on the implementation and delivery of a programme of education, coaching and mentoring to ensure that staff, contract partners and adjacent facilities understand their obligations to comply with the NSL, as well as the supporting compliance arrangements.

The Skills

:

Experience of working in a compliance role is essential, ideally having worked in the nuclear sector. However, we'd also consider experience from another highly
- regulated sector - such as rail, oil & gas, aerospace, etc.

You'll need to have proven experience of working closely with and understanding the approach of regulators.

Desirables include experience of working on a large

You will be confident in your own abilities and be able to deliver in a dynamic environment.

If the above sounds like you, then we'd love to hear from you
