- Assist with general servicing, weekly checks, and fault diagnostics for our vehicle fleet machinery range
- Conduct emergency servicing and repair of vehicles as instructed, including on-site and emergency call-outs
- Carry out vehicle inspections in readiness for MOT tests
- Maintain detailed records for each vehicle/machinery item to demonstrate servicing and repair history
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of equipment following brand guidelines
- Diagnose and assess vehicles and mechanical equipment based on skills and competency
- Support in developing digital logging processes to monitor workload, stock, and vehicle/machinery health
- Preserve all company tools and equipment provided
- Communicate with customers when necessary
- Adhere to company policies, rules, and regulations
- Ensure safe storage of equipment at the end of each day and comply with Health and Safety standards
- Demonstrated experience in a mechanic/fitter role with a relevant mechanical qualification or equivalent experience
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work well under pressure
- Customer-oriented mindset and team player
- A valid driver's license and independent travel capability

We have an exciting opening for a proactive individual to join our Workshop Team as a Plant Mechanic.
The selected candidate will work at our workshop in Hockley Heath, Solihull, focusing on maintaining the company's and clients' machinery, tools, and equipment.
As a Plant Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business by efficiently servicing and managing various plant and tools used by our Operative Teams.
Being part of our dynamic Workshop Team, your responsibilities will include identifying and rectifying faults or damages in machinery, vehicles, and tools, updating service records accurately, and occasionally performing repairs at customer sites.
Main Responsibilities:Established over two decades ago, Fairways is a reputable outdoor facilities contractor serving public and private sectors in the Midlands.
Our team of 50+ full-time employees drives the continuous growth of our business as we onboard new clients and expand service offerings for existing partners.
Currently, Fairways caters to more than 300 organizations, including 100+ schools, Jaguar Land Rover, and the National Trust.
