Are you an HR Professional looking for your next challenge?

Our client, a further education college in Plymouth is looking for someone who can deliver a high quality, pro-active HR Service; coaching and developing managers and leaders to increase awareness of their policies and procedures.


As the HR Advisor, you will:

  • Work in partnership with staff, building effective relationships to increase understanding of HR needs and demands
  • Provide advice and support on a broad range of employee relations matters.
  • Support the management to introduce and embed HR policies and practice, and assist in the design and/or delivery of HR training.
  • Ensure that HR guidance and advise always reflects and reinforces employment law, good practice, customer care and the provision of a highquality service.
  • Support less experienced or newly experienced colleagues
  • Support the operational and strategic development of the company's HR service where appropriate by identifying opportunities for continuing improvement.
  • Actively challenge and seek to eliminate any directly or indirectly discriminatory practices or behaviours.

Experience required:

  • Experience of working in a busy HR department providing advice and guidance to managers
  • Experience of working with others to resolve performance management and other employee relations issues
  • Demonstrable experience in a role where you have had the ability to organise and prioritise workloads

Qualifications required:

  • CIPD Level 5 (or willing to work towards)
  • GCSE Grade C in English and Maths

Skills required:

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills both verbal and written
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • The need of accuracy is essential
  • Strong IT skills with experience of using software, preferably iTrent
  • A flexible and enthusiastic approach
  • Knowledge of employment law and best practice
  • Confidence to make decisions and work on own initiative
This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday 9:00-5:00pm.
