Purpose of the Role:
To support the Dubai office in effectively managing and settling claims in order to deliver a quality advocacy claims service to clients.
Key Role Accountabilities:
Principal Tasks
- Managing own workload, and time, in order to maximise efficiency.
- Ensuring that deadlines and targets are met.
- Dealing with a claim notification by identify risk, review details in conjunction with coverage/wording afforded, acknowledge to client/intermediary, prepare claims file accurately and promptly and maintain inhouse and external computerised claims records.
- Producing claims information and presenting to insurers, either in written or networked format; and dealing with any resultant instructions, queries and enquiries.
- Monitoring insurers' agreement and payment of funds and ensuring that payment is made to the appropriate beneficiary.
- Ensuring relevant insurer's instructions are notified to Client/expert and vice versa.
- Building meaningful relationships with Clients, experts and insurers by dealing with them in a prompt, friendly and professional manner at all times.
- Building effective liaison with placing colleagues in the Dubai office, including, where required, the maintenance and provision of claims statistics for renewal or similar purposes.
- Building effective liaison with accounting colleagues both in respect of collection/payment of funds, any queries and the subsequent clearance of accounting entries.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential skills
- Good GCSE/A level grades or relevant degree.
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong numeracy skills
- Good general knowledge of Property/Machinery Breakdown/Bi and Marine classes
- Experience of handling claims in the MENA region
- Strong communication skills and strategic thinker
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A positive, enthusiastic and confident disposition
- Ability to prioritise and proactively meet deadlines
- Customer focused and keen to provide the highest quality of service delivery
Person Specification:
- You will be expected to deal honestly and fairly with fellow employees, customers, and others within the insurance profession and value other team members as colleagues. _
- Take responsibility for own learning and development is paramount; keep up to date with developments in law and practice relating to own field of expertise; and ensure that all external and internal training obligations and requirements are fulfilled._
