Consultant pay rate: $19 /hr on W2 (AllInclusive)

• An entrylevel position that ensures safe and efficient traffic movement andmonitors roadways including detecting confirming updating andresponding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidentscongestion and travel time imbalances.
• Theinitial contract is subject to extension upon goodperformance.
• Two employees needed for secondshift:
• 2nd Shift (1 employee): (Tues) 1:30pm10:30pm (Wed Fri) 1:00pm 10:30pm

Tasks include:

• Entry level operator position performing functions withsupervision and to established procedures.
• Toperform all duties and may defer the most complex issues to asupervisor.
• To operate various computerbasedtraffic management systems to manage traffic and incidents onroadways and improve traffic conditions.
• Tomonitor roadways via CCTV surveillance cameras and detectionsystems.
• To monitor all traffic devices andcomputer equipment associated with the system.
• To maintain knowledge on the operation of all trafficequipment computers and software associated with the trafficsystems.
• To utilize traffic equipment forincident management and the improvement of travel time safety andquality of life of the traveling motorists and tollcustomers.
• To continually checks the accuracyand validity of the messages displayed on all DMS and511.
• To be aware of all 511 messagesbroadcasted on a particular system.
• To enterincident information into computer systems using trafficsoftware.
• To become familiar with the roadwaysand understands the purpose and location of each traffic device(i.e. detector stations CCTV and 511).
• Toalert operator staff to new and existing memos.
• To use SOG to detect dispatch monitor and documentroadway incidents.
• To confer with partners(highway patrol Service Patrols Local Law Enforcement Fire Rescueetc.) as well as adjacent Traffic Management Centers or other DOTRegions to coordinate resources for incidents that may affectregional travel.
• To dispatch Service Patrolsand assists Service Patrols with other tasks such as phone callsetc.
• To perform other duties asassigned.
