    Job Description

    The Electrical Technician is mainly responsible for electrical work support of the overall plant operation and in maintaining the operation of the plant in compliance with established production schedules and production requirements.

    Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into area of responsibility and, in consultation with site management and HSE, that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
  • Ensures works within area of responsibility conform with Plant time, budget and HSEQ requirements
  • Performs all electrical troubleshooting and maintenance activities on all processes systems and equipment
  • Reads and follows electrical drawings, O&M manuals, and relevant information
  • Carries out assigned job activities throughout the shift to ensure all work assignments are completed correctly and as requested
  • Update progress reports on work orders on CMMS
  • Ensures that all job assignment work areas are cleaned of used parts, debris, and tools upon completion of work
  • Ensures that work accidents, incidents and near misses are reported
  • Complies with all National and Local Electrical Codes, completing professional works
  • Attends HSE Inspections, audits, assessments, and meetings
  • Conducts Risk identification/analysis/assessments
  • Manages and maintains the spares parts list including the critical spares list and ensure the ongoing of availability of critical spares at the Location to maximize availability
  • Supervises assigned staff and contractors

    Qualifications

    Educational/Professional Qualifications/Training Certifications

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship
  • IOSH Managing Safely or similar
  • HNC/D qualification in engineering desirable
  • HV switching and HVSAP desirable
  • Job Experience

  • 3 years experience as an electrical technician, and at least two (2) years' experience in a similar industry
  • Familiar with HSE standards, procedures and requirements and control plant operations in a safe and efficient manner
  • Familiarity with DC and other emergency systems
  • PLC and DCS understanding and experience.
  • Knowledge of environmental controls and equipment

  • Senior O&M EC&I Technician ( grade 48 ):
  • Qualification to HNC or equivalent in electrical disciplineMinimum 5 years experience
  • O&M EC&I Technician ( grade 47 ):Qualification to minimum of Level 3 NVQ or equivanlentMinimum of 3 years experience
