Overview
BNY Mellon is hiring a Lead Analyst, Regulatory Oversight Management to join the Trade & Transaction Reporting Team.

The team supports BNY Mellon's Foreign Exchange (FX) CT (compounds tradeable) swaps, Securities Finance, Collateral Management & Segregation,Liquidity and Fixed Income & Equities businesses.

The role will be responsible for the trade and transaction reporting commitments of our global regulatory reporting including EMIR,
SFTR, MiFID II
The Trade & Transaction Reporting Team is expanding in Manchester to support the EMEA region's regulatory reporting commitments.


Core Responsibilities:


  • To support the Markets Group managing their transaction exception reporting process, remediation and change process and providing governance and oversight of the reporting commitments to the various European Regulators

This will include but is not limited to:

MIFID II

SFTR
EMIR- Responsible for the adherence to the policies, procedures, and controls.

Oversee remediation and change projects impacting existing / new regulatory change requirements, monitor progress, complete UAT and post check out requirements.

Work with the operationmanager and control officer to operationalise any change

  • Maintain accuracy of reports and be responsible for the maintenance and implementation of processes to ensure correct and accurate regulatory reporting.
  • You must build close working relationships with our key functional stakeholders and the Markets LOBs to ensure the correct management and oversight of our reporting commitments, whilst acting as a point of contact you will develop detailed knowledge ofregulatory requirements, the process flows and be able to provide reporting data analysis in order to meet and support the regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate reconciliation breaks with QA reconciliation team and identify root cause.
  • Timely escalation of issues identified in the process in line with regulatory operations escalation process and protocols.

Advisory:


  • Work with the LOB's / Key Stakeholders in relation to regulatory exceptions.
  • Working closely with the LOB's / Key Stakeholders to reduce the number of remediation and change items
  • Manage communication with trade and transaction operations team leads with regard to upcoming implementation releases

Key responsibilities:


Governance:


  • Ensure the operational readiness for our remediation and change book of work.
  • Ability to work independently and possess a strong work ethic and be able to adapt quickly to change.
  • Continuously challenge processes to identify areas for improvement
  • Point of contact for BAU operations team to raise new exceptions/fail issues
  • Assist with breach investigations and root cause analysis
  • Represent trade and transaction operations team on remediation and change meetings
  • Conduct UAT testing and post check out requirements
  • Ensure correct governance and documentation is in please prior to approving implementation of change.

Minimum Educational or Experience Requirement:


  • 2 or more years' experience working within a change/project environment
  • Strong Risk, Control Management or Operational background from Financial Services.

  • Service oriented, with the ability to drive open issues through to resolution.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to producing highly accurate and timely reporting.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate across Asset Servicing, Markets, Compliance, Legal and the wider organisation.
  • Professional, reliable, and conscientious.
  • Good analytic and problem solving skills, escalating any issues accordingly.
  • Investigative and inquisitive nature; willing to challenge accepted practices.
  • Confidence and ability to analyse, diagnose and take ownership of issues through to timely resolution.

Preferred Knowledge:


  • Knowledge of interest rates derivatives products, FX Derivatives, Cash instrument (fixed income)
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting (
    SFTR, EMIR, MiFID II would be advantageous)
  • Markets Regulatory background would be desirable.
  • A strong control mindset, including governance frameworks.
  • Experience with UnaVista, DTCC, IHSM Markit and TradeWeb desirable
