This is an exciting opportunity for a well organised, enthusiastic individual to join our busy library team.


The postholder will have excellent customer care skills, enjoy working with the whole community and be confident in working with and providing information to the public in a busy environment.


About the role


Experience of Library work is not essential, but you should share our passion about the role of Libraries in promoting reading, literacy and culture.


Clevedon Library has a busy calendar of events including rhymetimes, storytimes, school visits, author events, activity clubs (including Lego, board games, colouring and code club) and digital support.

The postholder will be leading some of these events, with support from volunteers as well as creating displays and craft activities.


The post holder will be based mostly at Clevedon Library with one afternoon shift per week being at Yatton Library.

The postholder may on occasion be asked to work at any other North Somerset Library.


The hours are worked as follows:

Week 1 - Tuesday 10.00am-3.30pm, Thursday pm, Friday 9.30am-3.30pm, Saturday 9.30am-1.00pm.


Week 2 - Tuesday 10.00am-5.00pm, Thursday pm, Friday 9.00am-3.00pm.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
