Sandvik Osprey located in South Wales is looking for a Maintenance Planner


MAINTENANCE PLANNER
With 160 years of material expertise, Sandvik is a global leader in advanced manufacturing technologies.

At our site in South Wales, we offer a Controlled Expansion (CE) Alloys product range and the widest alloy range of metal powders on the market, under the world-renowned Osprey brand.


We're now looking for someone to join our Engineering Team to manage and develop maintenance activities with the aim of improving equipment reliability and ensure statutory compliance.


ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Planner will specifically be focused on scheduling the maintenance activities for the Osprey site.

Important parts of the role include:

  • The development and implementation of preventative maintenance tasks, predictive maintenance systems and Plant Condition Monitoring.
  • Measurement, reporting and improvement of plant reliability
  • Scheduling maintenance tasks to available resources
  • Preparation and management of major outage schedules and liaising with production to schedule planned downtime.
  • Preparation and management of SWPs for maintenance tasks.
  • Measurement, reporting and improvement of Safety Critical maintenance performance.
  • Engage with and coordinate / oversee the activities of engineering contractors in conjunction with the maintenance supervisor.
  • Participation in internal and external audits.
  • Compile and maintain an inventory of applicable engineering spares.
  • Ensure the Stores stockholding of applicable spares is appropriate.

ABOUT YOU


You have experience in maintenance systems and planning, experience of working with and supervising engineering craft and contractors, and good understanding of legislative inspection requirements, such as PUWER, asbestos, legionella etc.

A good technical knowledge (mechanical or electrical), ideally gained within a heavy engineering environment, and strong team working skills with the ability to influence.
