    Description

    Group Chief Accountant

    Job Purpose

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in US GAAP, experience working closely with shared service centres, and ideally Big 4 trained.

    This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements, as well as providing strategic financial guidance to support our business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Ensure accurate preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS
  • Oversee the consolidation of financial results for multiple entities within the group.
  • Provide insightful analysis of financial performance, highlighting key trends and variances.
  • Manage the Group Audit driving efficiency and minimizing fees.
  • Manage the Accounting Policies and their implementation across the Group and the interpretation and implementation of new or amended standards.

    • Strategic Planning:

  • Ensure appropriate accounting for acquisitions, divestments and other ad-hoc Group investment opportunities and initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.

    • Shared Service Centre Collaboration:

  • Partner with shared service centres to optimise finance processes and drive efficiency improvements.
  • Establish strong working relationships with shared service teams, ensuring alignment with financial reporting requirements.

    • Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise and mentor group finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the accounting team.

    • Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant - ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent preferred.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a IFRS and a strong emphasis on US GAAP.
  • Experience working with a shared service centre environment is highly desirable.
  • Big 4 accounting firm training and experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A confident decision maker, with proven experience of successfully influencing stakeholders in a matrix environment.
  • Prioritises well consistently delivers against tight deadlines.
  • Team player with high level of professional integrity.
  • Strong attention to detail.
