Chaplain, Bromyard and Leominster Community Hospital


As a chaplain, you are expected to deliver pastoral, spiritual and religious support as outlined in the NHS Chaplaincy Guidelines and working in line with the UKBHC Code of Conducts for Healthcare Chaplain.

This involves listening to and being alongside people of all faiths and beliefs including those of no faith.


You will be joining a well established, friendly and supportive multi faith team who are keen to add an excellent team player with a positive collaborative approach to complex problems.

To be a trained leader within a recognised faith community.


To visit Bromyard and Leominster Community Hospitals each week to provide pastoral and spiritual care to patients, their families and our staff.


  • To form good working relationships within each community hospital location
  • To maintain personal, spiritual and professional integrity
  • To embody the ideals and ethos of a faith led, person centred, open, inclusive, ecumenical chaplaincy service and the Trust's values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
  • To meet any spiritual or religious needs for those of faith and of no faith.
  • To meet, the sacramental or spiritual needs of patients, and/or families, in the last days of life and/or in spiritual or pastoral distress.
  • When required to work with patients' own parish priests/ministers or other religious leaders, regarding their pastoral and spiritual care whilst in hospital, ensuring adherence to the Trust's policy on patient confidentiality and consent.
  • To supervise and support chaplaincy volunteers.
  • To record visits and chaplaincy records in accordance with Information Governance.
  • To comply with Trust and other policies in relation to the safeguarding of children and adults and all other mandatory training.
  • To maintain personal spiritual growth and discipline.
  • To adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct as laid down by the UKBHC.
