    Description

    Overview

    As a member of a growing software development team you will be involved in the design, coding and testing of modules within the Simcyp Software Platform. You will need a good working knowledge of C++ and the ability to produce work of a consistently high quality within set timescales. The role requires close liaison with scientists and other staff on an ongoing basis so good interpersonal skills are essential. The candidate must also be eligible to work in the UK.     Simcyp is part of Certara, a company which combines sophisticated research and development informatics with the power of predictive science methodologies to span the drug development spectrum and offer pharma a previously unavailable 'end-to-end' solution in the quest for improving human health. The Simcyp team conducts cutting-edge research and provides consultancy, knowledge integration tools, algorithms, modelling solutions and databases (implemented in its globally-recognised Simcyp Population-based Simulator) for a client base of major blue-chip pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations. Simcyp focuses, in particular, on gathering information required for the modelling and simulation (M&S) of the individual time-course and fate of drugs. We are on course to become the global industry standard, consequently, there is a continuous requirement for high quality people to join us, help in our expansion and share in our success.

    Responsibilities

    Key responsibilities:

    • Development of new functionality within our simulation engine using C++20.
    • Lifecycle product development including design, validation, testing and full customer support.
    • Good appreciation of multithreaded design principles and their application.
    Qualifications

    Essential

    • The successful applicant will have 5 or more years' commercial experience in C++ and a thorough understanding of the software development life cycle from design specification through to testing and evaluation.
    • Ability to achieve under tight deadlines and thrive in a pressured environment.
    • Evidence to support dynamic and self-motivated work.
    • Proven ability to work as part of a team on large projects.
    • Evidence to show ability to work confidently and meet tight deadlines.
    • Good communication skills with internal and external contacts.

    Desirable

    • Background in Bioinformatics or a relevant scientific domain.
    • Knowledge of C# WPF, XAML and MVVM architecture.
    • Knowledge of modelling packages such as Matlab and R.
