    Job Description

    What your new role will entail:

    We have two exciting openings in our Water Engineering team at AECOM located in Edinburgh.

    As an Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the project design and delivery process. You will assist in identifying the requirements for design resources and specialized input such as ecological, geotechnical, hydraulic modeling, and more. Taking charge of applying your technical expertise, managing stakeholder expectations, and utilizing your knowledge of essential design processes and communication skills.

    The Role:

    • Ensure timely delivery, quality, cost, health, safety, and environmental compliance.
    • Develop detailed designs for water infrastructure projects.
    • Offer specialized technical input for studies and design within your area of expertise.
    • Participate in project deliverables reviews across different disciplines.
    • Contribute to construction cost estimates and technical effort estimations.
    • Assist in quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings.
    • Prepare technical specification sections.
    • Provide input for engineering budgets and schedules.

    Being part of the team:

    Joining our Water team in Edinburgh enables you to engage in a wide range of projects and collaborate with various clients. This opportunity allows you to enhance your skills, gain new experiences, and explore different work methods. Recently, we have supported projects for various organizations including Wessex Water, NI Water, Scottish Water, and more, covering diverse scopes from small-scale drainage to large Water Treatment works, providing you with a stimulating project portfolio.

    Our Edinburgh civils team is a close-knit group of around 20 individuals who foster a supportive environment focused on mutual development. We prioritize professional growth, encouraging and supporting each team member towards achieving professional accreditations.

    Qualifications

    Here's what we require:

    • Engineering degree qualification.
    • Experienced design engineer with expertise in water/wastewater infrastructure.
    • Working towards Chartered Engineer Status.
    • Hands-on experience in project design delivery.
    • Ability to work independently on major water/drainage projects.
    • Effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
    • Willingness to travel to various AECOM and client locations.
