    Multi Skilled Engineering Apprentice (Electrical Bias) KNAUF (UK) GMBH

    Knauf are seeking a Electrical Engineering Apprentice who will maintain the safety, integrity & effective operation of the plant and equipment.

    You will undertake installation, testing, servicing, removal, replacement, maintenance & repair of a range of equipment.
    This pay rate is above National Minimum Wage
    3 paid days for community/charitable/voluntary commitments7% employer pension contrib.retailer & gym discounts, eyecare vouchersAccess to legal & medical adviceLife Assurance (4 x salary)
    Monday to Friday: 7am - 3:30pm
    Level 3 (A level)
    Work towards completion of IPS apprenticeship training scheme. Gain the practical skills required to perform the role of Dual Skill Technician with a bias in Electrical Engineering.
    Continually check your progress against the training logbook with your mentor.

    • Shadow and support colleagues within the engineering team to develop practical skills.
    • Develop good working relationships with members of the engineering team.
    • Comply with all company policies.
    • Attend and participate in the daily maintenance morning meeting.

    Year 1 of the Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard, the learner will attend four days a week within IPS Rochester workshop completing practical skills (Performing Engineering Operations) and one day a week studying the Technical Certificate.

    In Year 2, the Apprentice moves to day-release and will attend IPS one day a week to continue the Technical Certificate.

    The Apprentice will continue to receive regular training contact with IPS all throughout the programme.
    What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
    Ability to become a Shift Technician, Day Technician, Process Technician (within Mechanical or Electrical Discipline)
    Desired skills and personal qualities
    Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Willingness to learn, Interest in Engineering, Good hand-eye coordination
    GCSE or equivalent Maths, English and Science (Grade 4-9/A-C) Essential
    This apprenticeship has a four-year duration and will include a mix of working and studying.

    Enrolment onto your apprenticeship programme is subject to prior attainment checks, and your Personal Learning Record will be reviewed upon successful appointment.

    We are also obligated to follow the guidelines around eligibility, set out by the government apprenticeship funding rules.
