Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Senior Income Collections Officer to work with one of our Housing Association clients in London.

What the job will be doing

  • The main purpose of the role is to provide a flexible income collection support role to all Housing contracts. The SICO will be expected to be flexible in their approach to working across all Housing Contracts, concentrating on areas needing an indepthlevel of focus. This will involve working on different housing management systems and being flexible in their approach as they will be expected to work from different offices and visit various sites.
  • This role will involve undertaking a range of income collection duties relating to rent and service charge income for affordable rent, private rent and social housing residents; to provide a coordinated, flexible, and effective income collection service.
Anin-depth knowledge of income collection and the legal framework for housing is required.

The post holder will be responsible for dealing with complicated arrears cases, serving notices, and attending court where required, liaising with the Welfare Advice Officersto identify and resolve rent arrears due to issues with Housing Benefit or Universal Credit.


  • You will be responsible for achieving and maintaining lowest possible levels of current rent and former tenancy arrears and ensure we maximise income recovery. You will be guided by the Head of Income, work closely with the Income Team Managers and workwith the housing management teams to ensure delivery of the contract targets.

What you will need

  • Experience in using Qube housing management system
  • Understanding of the legal framework for housing and Pre-Action Protocols
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits specifically Universal Credit and Housing Benefit
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in rent income collection for a housing association or local authority
