_ Job Purpose_


To operate Milling Centres and to support the Production Manager/ delegate, when required, in producing Offline CNC programmes for various machines across the area.

Provide technical support to the Engineering Team.


_Main Responsibilities_

_ To operate Milling Centres_

  • General CNC machine tool operating / Programming as required utilising desktop software or direct machine input as required.
  • General working drawings to assist with manufacture of components.
  • Liaise with Head of CNC New Manufacture and repair along with Production Supervisor to ensure adequate resources for complex components.
  • Assist all machinists with programming operations as directed by the Production Supervisor.
  • Assist the Production Manager and Production Supervisor in the efficient execution of tasks according to the Company's SOPs.
  • Complete paperwork as required by the Production Manager.
  • Assess operative to ensure safe working practices, capability and quality is maintained / improved.
  • Participate in any external training.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
  • Carry out any other reasonable task / activities as requested by Management.

_ Skills and Abilities_

  • Accuracy with record keeping.
  • Possess computer skills.
  • Ability to understand the CNC systems and production plans.
  • Possess a high level of focus and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organisational ability and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated selfstarter with high initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced conversational and written English/high level interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work overtime.

_ Knowledge & Experience_

  • Preferable experience using Heidenhain controls on 4 and 5 axis machining centres.
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc.
  • Cad / Cam with Mastercam system.
  • Preferred experience of working in a busy engineering production environment.
  • Preferred understanding of basic legislation relating to Employment and Health & Safety.
  • Preferred working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Working Hours:
This is a full-time role based on 38 hours per week.
