    Are you a Qualified Psychologist or about to finish your training looking to gain first-class hands-on experience within Substance use field?

    We are recruiting kind-hearted individuals with the patience and creativity to support our multi-disciplinary team in the heart of a diverse, multi-cultural and forward-thinking North London partnership working with Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust.

    Our Psychologists will have the opportunity to work and learn alongside truly world-class addiction experts including Consultant Psychiatrist, Doctors, Nurses, Drug and Alcohol workers. Our therapy service is comprised of Band 7 Clinical Psychologist (Rough Sleepers Team), Play Therapist (delivering interventions to children and families) and attached clinical trainees in DCPsych and Psychotherapy, all of which have multiple years industry experience.

    Our therapies Team deliver trauma-informed individual and group psychological interventions to those with mild/moderate use, as well as those with more severe or chronic use through extended consultations and psychological assessments. The service is offered across two sites with Vincent House offering a workplace that is designed to meet the needs of today's workforce. It is a space that is aesthetically pleasing, flexible, and promotes employee wellness.

    Main duties of the job

    This is an innovative approach oriented towards delivery of psychologically informed environments facilitating development of psychological framework allowing services to have a shared understanding of and response to the people they support. This will consist of staff training and support which enables homeless sector workers to move away from crisis management and work in a more therapeutic and planned way as well as face to face work with service users You will be required to provide intermittent consultations and assessments of outcomes to enable staff and clients to evaluate their effectiveness, for ongoing development, and to evidence service impact.

    People experiencing homelessness are likely to have additional needs around their mental and emotional wellbeing of these around 45% reported having a diagnosis, which compares to 25% of people within the general population. Many difficulties experienced by people who have been homeless often arise from histories of trauma, beginning in childhood. Psychologically Informed Environments are services that are designed and delivered in a way that take into account the emotional and psychological needs of the individuals using them. Your role will be crucial in developing such culture and environments within Enfield humulenes sector.

    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Essential criteria

    • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
    • Eligibility for Chartered Status with the BPS.
    • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council Practitioner Psychologist.

    Desirable criteria

    • Post graduate training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychotherapy practice such as MBT, DBT.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Able to work flexibly according to the needs of the service.

    EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

    Essential criteria

    • Substantial experience of treating complex clients.
    • Experience of specialist adult mental health assessment.

    Desirable criteria

    • Experience of contributing to service development and innovation.
    • Experience working with homeless people Experience of working with substance misuse.

    PERSONAL QUALITIES

    Essential criteria

    • Ability to teach and train others, using a variety of complex multi-media materials suitable for presentations within public, professional and academic settings.
    • Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance as appropriate, to support and maintain clinical practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and challenging behaviour.

    Desirable criteria

    • Personal experience of mental health problems.
    • Experience of working within a multicultural framework.
