Teachers' Housing Association is seeking a Maintenance Surveyor to join our team in London for a fixed term of 3 months.


Key Responsibilities

  • To conduct void, pre/post inspections diagnose repairs, assess structural integrity, quality control, signing off work, assess stock condition.
  • Conduct inspections, diagnose repairs and produce detail specifications and written reports.
  • Act upon repair request and respond to repairsrelated enquiries, ensure works are completed with prescribed timescales.
  • Action void properties and supervise the void process to ensure prompt turnaround of void works within target times.
  • Work collaboratively with local authority to deliver major aids and adaptations for residents.
  • To take an active role for relevant statutory and regulatory compliance e.g asbestos, gas water hygiene management etc
  • Respond to complaints, ombudsman, local councillors and MP enquiries on repairrelated matters.
  • To provide technical support and advice to other teams and be a point of contact for the repairs service.
  • Place and issue work order instructions to contractors via THA's repairs Pyramid G2 databases
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure voids works and remedial repairs are carried out to a high standard.
  • Monitor and manage contractors' performance, ensuring that any areas of weakness are addressed.
  • Update and maintain THA's asset database.

Skills

  • An HNC in building surveying or equivalent/ relevant experience in social housing
  • Experience in dealing with responsive repairs and maintenance, voids.
  • Meticulous attention to detail during inspections ability to identify risks, defects and areas of noncompliance.
  • The ability to manage the contractors to ensure a high quality of work when repairs are being carried out.
  • Effective communication skills with staff, residents, contractors, and consultants.
  • A strong ability to be part of a team and provide support to other team members with technical advice and recommendations to enable the resolution of complex repairs issues.
  • Working knowledge and skills in the use and interrogation of an asset database.
  • Knowledge of packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 3 months


Salary:
£35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
