FUNCTION
The Engineering Intern is assigned a variety of projects to be completed in a responsive and timely manner from conception to completion.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIEs
ENGINEERING
- Evaluate existing procedures and production methods for opportunities to improve.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
- Perform Time Studies to support the Item Creation standards.
- Assist with and/or take lead of new or upgraded Process / Equipment Implementation projects.
- Process mapping, development, improvement and documentation.
- Development of procedures, forms, checklists, and schedules required to support these activities.
- Investigate new technologies, equipment, supplies to help improve the operation.
- Tooling assessments and review (tool life, design and manufacture)
- R & D projects around enhancing capability, or analysing and improving process capability.
- Sustainability projects to improve the companies carbon footprint.
- Additional activities may be assigned based on current requirements and Intern development.

- Prioritise tasks effectively
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ensure all safety rules and standards are adhered to
- Ensure correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times when required in line with company procedures
- Commitment and ongoing support to the company's LEAN programme
- Comply with the Company's Attendance Management policy
- Provide holiday/absence cover for other roles/tasks as and when required
- Fulfil any other duties as required for your job role
- Flexibility to travel as and when required
- Hold a full clean driving licence
- Currently enrolled in Engineering or Technical discipline at an accredited university/college
- Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiar with AutoCAD and 3D CAD modelling
- Adept at working in a manufacturing environment
- Wonderlic 25+, Bennett Mechanical 90%+
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
