Job Overview


Working within the Learning Technology team, the Learning Platform Administrator will undertake a variety of tasks to support the administration of the learning platform.

The core task for this role is to prepare pre-built online modules for live delivery on our learning platform (Moodle) throughout the year.

This task requires a high level of attention to detail to ensure the modules are configured accurately for students and tutors.

The role will work across all our University of Essex Online programmes and will involve liaising with KOL tutors, Student Support and Programme Support Teams.

This is a Leeds-based role with remote working opportunities.

You will be a highly organised individual with excellent IT, written and oral communication skills.

You will have demonstrable administrative and team working skills combined with the ability to work on your own initiative.

You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively work and communicate with a range of people in a supportive, collaborative, and professional style.


Essential Skills

  • Previous office administrative experience in a complex environment.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Consistently selfmotivated with an ongoing ability to take appropriate initiative, manage multiple tasks and produce highquality output to set deadlines.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Office 36
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Desirable Skills

  • Basic HTML.
  • An understanding of current web technologies.
  • A keen interest in education and learning technology.
