Description:


Project Manager - Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the successful delivery of a range of projects by:
  • Understanding the IT portfolio and landscape and the scope of these projects ii. Making sense of agreed design deliverables
  • functional and technical.
  • Turning these into a detailed, implementable programme of work for build and test phases.
  • Ensuring appropriate infrastructure is in place to enable the above.
  • Identifying and organising supporting resources where applicable (e.g. for testing).
  • Driving weekly progress against a clear project plan.
  • Ensuring all project management elements are effectively managed including cross programme risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Managing upwards to bring key risks, issues and dependencies to the attention of key stakeholders.
  • Establishing strong relationships with all programme and nonprogramme stakeholders, notably in business units that will be impacted by mopup projects.
  • Managing any cutover and deployment activities.
  • Working with CPR Programme Delivery Leads to integrate mopup activities into broader CPR initiatives (e.g. testing, cutover, support model) where applicable.
  • Ability to deliver these projects in agile and/or waterfall governance depending on project nature Project Manager
  • Initial Tasks (first four weeks):
  • Distilling the scope of identified projects into key activities and work-packets so everyone is clear on what is (and what is not) expected.
  • Defining the effort required to deliver each project costs, resources, schedule iii. Drafting and baselining a delivery plan iv. Confirming who will be needed for successful progression as we transition from design to build and test.
  • Ensuring infrastructure / environments work is progressing at pace.
  • Holding suppliers to account for discrete deliverables.
  • Identifying and involving all necessary Business Energy stakeholders for governance and wider CPR programme purposes.
  • Defining tasks and chasing/closing all required actions to meet plan ix. Issuing status reports and settingup and driving weekly status meetings.

  • Alongside CPR, there are several other significant IT projects within Business Energy which are inflight delivering important immediate and future capability. This has created a very busy portfolio at Client Business Energy and it is essential that theIT Project Manager considers the impact of these projects so that all projects can be delivered successfully.

  • Required Skills & Experience i. A high calibre IT professional with proven experience in planning and delivering outcomes in a complex, technical environment.
  • Ability to work with partial information to drive out a project plan and close gaps quickly.
  • Ability to quickly understand IT solution design and development including architecture, environments, integration, testing and cutover.
  • Ability to effectively build and manage thirdparty vendor relationships.
  • Strong leadership skills to assemble, motivate and lead a team.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, as well as good organisational skills.
  • Good understanding of UK/EU retail energy markets, especially B2B.
  • Experience of agile and waterfall delivery ix. Knowledge of IT systems in energy management, sales, billing and customer services/CRM would be an advantage.
