This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Peer Support Worker within the RCE Wellbeing Hubs Peer Development Team.

This role is for 12 months on a fixed term contract and will be based at either our Peterborough or Cambridge base depending on where you live.


This role will require someone who has passion and dedication to ensuring our peers get the best possible experience whilst accessing CPFT services.


This will be a hybrid working role with some homeworking possible depending on needs of service however travel across the Trust is required.


As an integral and highly valued member of the RCE Wellbeing Hub Team the Senior Peer Support worker will coordinate and provide formalised peer support and practical assistance to support students and Peer Support Workers within CPFT.


With the support and the guidance of the Hub Manager and Lived Experience and Peer Support Coordinator you will offer support, advice, mentoring/coaching, and training to qualified Peer Support Workers.


Your role will be integral in supporting the implementation and success of the Peer Support Development Teams' Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).


This role will also support RCE Wellbeing Hub students who would like to progress in their recovery journey towards a Peer Support Worker career as well as other activities to support the Hubs student base with next steps.

Offer guidance and support to qualified Peer Support Workers, under the direction of the Hub Manager and Lived Experience and Peer Support Coordinator.


Offer on-going professional support, training and guidance (with the support of the team mentioned above) for qualified Peer Support Workers through a number of pathways including and not restricted to: Peer Professional Forums, The Peer Support Worker Preceptorship Programme, Group Supervisions, training activities and 1:1 sessions.


Where applicable, together with the Hub tutors, co-deliver training sessions in relation to wellbeing/self-help/management tools to support students and Peer Support Workers in their recovery journeys.


To monitor the performance, offer guidance and support to the Peer Support Workers in the Trust under direct supervision of the RCE Wellbeing Hub Team.

In partnership with the management team, monitor PSW training and attendance at such activities.


In partnership with the team manager and admin, prepare reports on the service and ensure data/information is collated and presented in a formal manner.


With the team managers, play a lead role in the development of the PSW role; promoting and encouraging the development of the peer support initiatives.


To support with the recruitment process of the peer support workers and provide expertise, knowledge, and experience to aid this process.

To have experience and specialist knowledge of available interventions and resources provided to meet the differing needs of people receiving services

Attend community groups etc in order to promote PSW and create meaningful and sustained connections.

Through sharing the wisdom of your lived experience to inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others.

Within a relationship of mutuality, facilitate and support information sharing to promote choice, self-determination, and opportunities for the fulfilment of socially valued roles and connection to local communities.


Take a lead role in embedding recovery values within the wider health system and community and act as an ambassador of the RCE Wellbeing Hub.


Model personal responsibility, self-awareness, self-belief, self-advocacy, and hopefulness via the telling of own recovery story to inspire and instil confidence in peers.


Support opportunities, through the RCE Wellbeing Hub curriculum and together with the Hub team, for students to learn more about how to access community groups and networks and participate in community activities, in order to maximise opportunities for taking on socially valued roles and positive identity.
