**Head of IT Technical Practice
Multinational Software Company
Permanent, paying in the region of £110k + World-Class Benefits

UK Home-Based / Remote / WFH (with periodic office visits)**As a trusted recruitment partner to this multi-national open-source software company with over 2500 employees across the globe, we have been asked to assist in the hire of a Head of IT Technical Practice to align processes, systems, and infrastructure withinthe strategic IT vision.


As Head of Technical Practice, you will be responsible for setting up and running IT governance, and you will report directly to the CIO.

Key requirements for this role include significant experience in process improvement and governance. You will also haveexperience with software development/architecture methodologies, technical design, and process documentation.

  • Aligning enterpriselevel business requirements with strategic IT vision
  • Define and operate technical design governance
  • Own the development of technical capability/toolset and make recommendations for its continuous improvement and alignment with industry standard
  • Defining the principles and standards for technical processes and written artifacts in the development lifecycle.
  • Determining business requirements, and translating these into roadmaps and technical opportunities. Identifying existing gaps and translating these into business and technical opportunities.
  • Research trending technologies to provide points of view and align the existing state with future technology services, and industry standards. Identifying tools and technologies that facilitate a holistic/integrated technology services portfolio, and addressorganizational governance, and data analytics needs.
  • Develop architectural framework per domain with the domain architects to facilitate the delivery of business and technical solutions.
  • Align IT infrastructure needs with current and future business and technology needs.
  • Develop a plan to assess technical debt and how to resolve it
  • Develop a plan for IT systems governance, reporting processes, and policies.
  • Develop a framework to identify SLAs and KPIs to measure design effectiveness.
  • Responsible for building and leading a specialist team of COE leads.
  • Experience with accepted software development and architecture methodologies
  • Significant experience in process improvement and governance
  • People leadership experience
