    Description
    We're currently seeking a backend WordPress Developer to join our team in Staffordshire.

    This is a full-time hybrid role, offering the flexibility of remote work with the opportunity to spend 1-2 days in the office during onboarding and as needed.

    Writing clean, maintainable code adhering to WordPress Coding Standards.
    Developing WooCommerce stores, enhancing functionality with extensions, overriding templates, and building out bespoke functionality through its system of hooks.
    Crafting custom LearnDash LMS websites, crafting engaging courses with bespoke interactive elements.
    Creating custom WordPress themes, transforming designs into optimised responsive layouts, with a focus on performance and user experience.
    Skills you'll bringSolid proficiency in PHP and WordPress development.
    Experience in both back-end and front-end development.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    Familiarity with eCommerce platforms, particularly WooCommerce, including templating, extensions, and custom development.
    Experience in developing bespoke WordPress and WooCommerce plugins.

    Knowledge of the WordPress API and its functionsWe work on a flexible hybrid model of remote and office based working.

    Candidates within a reasonable commutable distance to our Stafford office are preferred but not essential.
    Bonus pointsFamiliarity with front-end frameworks (we use CodyFrame).Knowledge of ACF Blocks.
    Knowledge of JavaScript/React.
    Experience in an agency or similar fast-paced environment.
    MySQL database usage and optimisation.
    WP-CLI commands.
    REST API and GraphQL.WordPress core architecture.
    Gutenberg blocks.
    Headless CMS and full site editing.
    Semantic HTML5 coding.
    Accessibility (WCAG 2.0+, WCAG 3, UAAG, ARIA, etc.)SEO best practices.
    Tooling, including version control software such as Git. Build tools for Sass such as gulp.
