The RoleAs a Senior Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer, you will be responsible for a small team and will be supporting eight z/OS LPARs in a business-critical retail environment.
You will be involved in 'traditional' z/OS Systems Programmer role as well as involvement in other mainframe areas such as storage and security.
Key Responsibilities:
Own primary responsibility for maintaining the z/OS, JES2 & associated ISV software environments.
Take end to end responsibility for maintenance, installation, upgrade of IBM and ISV software components in a business-critical environment.
Resolve any system-related problems that may arise in a timely and efficient manner.
Monitor system performance, and resource utilization.
Participate in DR Tests.
Maintain software license keys.
Act as a subject matter expert for all aspects of Mainframe Infrastructure.
Your ProfileKey skills/knowledge/experience:
Extensive experience in z/OS Systems Programming.
Ability to take end to end technical ownership of significant upgrade projects including the planning, installation, customization and migration of new z/OS releases.
Extensive experience of a wide range of ISV software from Broadcom, BMC and other vendors.Experience in System/z hardware configuration – HCD/IOCP and experience of System/z HMC.Experience of Mainframe Storage management products such as DFSMS, FDR/ABR, DFDSS & CA-DISK.Ability to write/read/debug programs in a batch and online environment like REXX, ASSEMBLER etc.
Good to have:
Familiarity with Mainframe Security Administration (RACF & ACF2).Familiarity with MQ & CICS.Familiarity with OPS/MVS Automation.
Familiarity with Dell EMC Disk and Virtual Tape storage.
