The role
As a Driver, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

Ensuring the provision of professional driving for all nominated tasks as required to meet or exceed customer and company expectations.

Day to day, you'll assist in the ground movement of aircrafts and be a key part in our flight-line operations, as well as:

  • Undertaking any driving duties as required by the contract, fuel bowser driving on shift to support flying operations, daily/weekly and any other maintenance and checks required to ensure vehicle safety and compliance to support flying operations, control all vehicle related administration within Babcock guidelines, and ensure all personal licences, medicals and competencies are maintained.
  • Preparing aircrafts for the upcoming days flying, conducting seein and seeoff procedures as well as being authorised to carry out fuel and oil replenishment on the aircraft.
  • Once authorised you'll also be undertaking daily maintenance checks on the company owned aircraft, carrying out preuse checks and be responsible for minor scheduled maintenance (A Check) on company owned Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • There will be some general duties as required, including (but not limited to), aircraft cleaning, housekeeping and other responsibilities as allocated by the Senior Driver or Site Operations Manager.


This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Cosford, however, the company may, on occasion, ask you to deploy temporarily to other sites or support detachments at other operating locations.


Essential experience of the Driver:


  • Clean Driving Licence.
  • Working knowledge of RAF/DVSA/DGSA and Babcock Transport administration.
  • Working knowledge of Transport & Driver legal requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards.
  • Meet eye colour vision of CP2/CP3 for airfield airside operations.
