    Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist

    We are looking for a part-time (1 day/week) Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist to join our secondary care psychology team for working age adults and their networks.

    who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties, aged 18 and upwards

    The post is a senior position and you will provide supervision within the role to trainees and other psychological practitioners; holding responsibilities for the on-going development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service.

    There are training opportunities within the trust to develop in line with service needs.

    The position is within the East Kent area, specifically Ashford in Kent & Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.

    To be responsible for the systematic provision of a range of evidence-based psychological interventions to working age adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties referred by the Community Mental Health teams within the locality.

    To undertake high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist psychology interventions within the service and taking substantial professional responsibility and exercising autonomous judgement in their professional practice.

    To be regularly responsible for providing and contributing to training placements for trainee clinical/counselling psychologists and for providing professional support and line-management to psychological therapists.

    We are currently looking for a part-time (1 day/week) band 8a Senior Psychological Therapist to join the Ashford and Canterbury Secondary Care psychological Services.

    art therapy; In addition we work alongside our colleagues in the community mental health team, populated by psychiatrists, nurses, Support workers, Occupational therapists and mental health wellbeing practitioners.

    2 years experience working in adult mental health or equivalent

    ongoing training
    Evidence of CPD or ongoing training

    Additional training in EMDR/MBT or other modality

    Learning and Development opportunities In addition to the mandatory subjects there are a number of leadership, management and staff topic areas, including coaching and mentoring.

    The programme's duration depends on role and can be from 2 days to 4 weeks (not always consecutive days).

    The Induction programme will provide an excellent opportunity for new staff to meet and engage with KMPT's subject specialists and include the required training.

    The programme may involve some travel to the various training venues across Kent and Medway, the main ones being Canterbury, Maidstone and Dartford.
