We're looking for a Works Quality Inspector to join our Transportation team based in Brixworth.

The role sits within the quality and performance team across our two contracts, North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire Council.

Responsibilities


As Works Quality Inspector you'll be working within the quality & performance team, supporting them with the management of independent site inspections, providing assurance to management and clients that works are completed in accordance with works information and design requirements.

Giving guidance and advice regarding the effective management of quality assurance and quality control, delivering quality management and improvement support to all projects and enabling functions.


Your day to day will include:

  • Working with the Senior Operations Managers, identifying when jobs / schemes are needing auditing, reporting jobs that haven't been audited and reporting the outcomes of audits
  • Communicating with the delivery team to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements, providing them with expert advice and coaching where works do not achieve the required standard, being the mediator between all parties on any quality related issues,
  • Conducting formal quality audits on schemes including postcompletion inspections to assess long term quality and durability, compiling relevant documentation to close out issues raised from audit, field based assessing of sites across North and West Northamptonshire, with the rest of the time spent collating findings and providing feedback to Senior Management and Operations teams, ensuring quality related KPI's are achieved, managing the key quality commitments across the contract, supporting of and coordinating quality including the monitoring of subcontractors

  • Show an industry specific HNC or degree (Quality or Construction)
  • Demonstrate experience within a quality related role in highways or construction
