    Description

    An excellent opportunity has arisen to become part of a growing Apheresis team at St Bartholomew's Hospital within a large Haematology Day Unit.

    Our Apheresis Unit provides Autologous and Allogeneic Stem Cell Harvesting and ad hoc Therapeutic procedures such as Plasma Exchanges and White Blood Cell Depletions.

    We also cater for Immune Effector Cells treatment such as CAR T therapy within our Stem Cell Transplantation Programme.

    We are looking for an experienced, tenacious and driven Deputy CNS with a passion for excellent patient care and service development.

    Haematology-Oncology experience is desirable but not essential as full in house and external training and support will be provided by our team and associated schools.

    Training will include all Apheresis procedures, venepuncture, cannulation and competency in administration of blood products. A chemotherapy (SACT) package is available for individuals who wish to develop/keep up with skills/knowledge.

    You will have the opportunity to work in the wider Haematology Day Unit at times administering blood products and anti-cancer therapies.

    As a post holder you will be expected to take on management responsibilities such as staff teaching and training preparing for Inspections (JACIE HTA and CQC) auditing, and reporting and manging incidents within the Quality Management Programme.

    You will be supported to develop within your role and deputise for the Apheresis CNS in their absence as a source of knowledge and support for the rest of the team.

    As the post holder, you will work closely with the wider MDT to deliver excellent, compassionate, patient centred care.

    As a senior nurse you will also be expected to continue your own professional development and keep up to date with developments in the field of Haemato-Oncology, Apheresis and Stem Cell Transplantation.
