    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate teacher to join our thriving and successful Learning Support Department as Deputy SENDCo.

    We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Has extensive experience in working with students with SEND.
  • Is an advocate for students with SEND and passionate about their academic and personal progress
  • Is able to oversee timetabling of Learning Support Assistants and assigning cover where necessary.
  • Forward thinking in developing student-centred curriculums and alternative pathways.
  • Communicates well with staff, students and parents.
  • Is organised, self-disciplined and works using their own initiative
  • Has, or is willing to achieve, a qualification for assessing students for examination access arrangements St Bonaventure's is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share the commitment. The suitability of the candidate will be assessed throughout the recruitment process All appointments will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check. We expect that you will have evidence of excellent classroom practice and high expectations of pupil attainment and, if overseas trained, we would need evidence that your professional qualifications are recognised by NARIC / NTA in the UK. St Bonaventure's was judged to be Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in November 2022, and is a popular provider of education within the London Borough of Newham.
