This role presents an exciting opportunity for you to use your immunology or computational genomics expertise to lead a project aimed at elucidating the cellular and molecular mechanisms underpinning IBD susceptibility, progression and drug response.

As part of the nationwide

IBD-Response study

, we are generating single-cell RNA sequencing data from blood samples ascertained from over 1,300 IBD patients before and after the initiation of biologic therapy. Gut biopsies from approximately 500 patients will also undergo single-cell RNA sequencing, and genetic data is available for all sample donors. Using these data, you will lead a series of analyses to identify biomarkers of treatment of response and map genetic variants associated with gene regulation in disease-relevant cell types. You will form part of a collaborative team of experts in genetics, genomics, immunology and gastroenterology to draw causal insights into disease pathogenesis and drug response.
