Wetherby Senior School offers French, German and Spanish to A Level. We are seeking a talented linguist and teacher to join us as Spanish Modern Foreign Languages Assistant.

At Wetherby Senior School, there is significant interest in learning languages and this post offers an exciting opportunity to lead a vibrant, forward thinking and dynamic Spanish department.

The team is passionate about languages and there is a collegiate ethos of sharing ideas and best practice.

Boys choose two languages from French, German and Spanish to study in lower school.

At Key Stage 4, all boys are expected to study at least one Modern Foreign Language (with many choosing two) and Spanish is a very popular option.

Boys in Year 10 and 11 prepare for the Pearson Edexcel (9-1) IGCSE and those opting to study Spanish at A Level will follow the AQA specification.


As well as offering educational visits abroad and in the UK, the department offer a wide range of language-related clubs as part of the school's diverse Activities Programme.


All language classrooms are modern and well-equipped and the department has access to a range of interactive resources and subscriptions.

The department has access to iPads and encourage the use of technology to support teaching and learning. We use Pearson e-books. The department is supported by a Spanish assistant for speaking practice.


About the School
Wetherby Senior School was founded in 2015 and is a member of the Alpha Plus Group of Schools.

There are currently around 416 boys and this is the fourth year that the School has boys in every year group from Years 7 to 13.

Our first five sets of GCSE results have been excellent and we are proud to have continued this trend with our first three sets of A level results.

Our students achieved grades that allowed them to gain places at top UK Universities such as; Cambridge, LSE, Imperial, Durham and UCL and Universities aboard such as; the University of Chicago, Pompeu Fabra Barcelona and the IE Business School Madrid.

As a result, the School's size and reputation is growing rapidly and we now occupy two sites in Marylebone.

The School was founded to offer a progressive education in the heart of London.

The School's focus on providing an all-round education means that high standards are expected of the boys in all areas of school life.

The School provides the boys with a broad educational experience, which includes Philosophy and Thinking Skills in the curriculum, to ensure that they are able to think critically and to problem solve but also to ensure they can be creative and collaborative in their approach, so that they develop a sense of social responsibility and respect for others.

Our skilled staff, who have a wealth of experience, are preparing to send our pupils to leading universities in the UK, the US and elsewhere.

Our emphasis on educating the whole boy means that all members of staff are expected to contribute to the pastoral care of a group of students as a Form Tutor as well as contributing to the School's co-curricular activities.
