All staff are professionally qualified or working towards a qualification in therapeutic skills to enable them to tend to the children and young people's practical, physical, and emotional needs.


we are looking for positive, compassionate, and interactive Residential Youth Mentors to join us in Children and Young People's Residential Care settings.

We cater for the needs of 11-18-year-old looked after children and young people who have a range of needs from social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.


All Residential Youth Mentors must have at least 2 years' experience working with Children and Young People from a Gang and/or Radicalisation background.

Residential Youth Mentors may experience high levels of physical interventions, and therefore must possess a strong degree of resilience.


The Young People have complex and multifaceted needs, this could include emotional and mental health issues, drug, and alcohol misuse, partaking in criminal activity and anti-social behaviours or being at risk of sexual exploitation.


Whilst most young people referred will not yet be ready to live fully independently, they will be ready to begin the transition to adulthood and develop their independent living skills.

The young people will require a supportive, structured, and stable environment with clear boundaries in which to do this.


As a Residential Care Worker specialising in Gang and Offending, you should have experience of working with young people that have experienced trauma and the complex issues that arise due to this.

You will be required to work with young people to reduce their offending behaviour and prevent any recalls to prison.

You will work with young people that maybe involved in gangs or on the periphery of involvement.

Again, this will involve working closely with internal and external agencies such as the police to support young people to exit gangs safely as well as providing alternative options to those on the periphery to prevent future gang activity and criminal behaviour.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide care for young people through:

  • Maintaining a safe and positive living environment
  • Teaching basic life skills and living skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning
  • Implementing Risk Assessments
  • Interacting and taking part in social activities
  • Providing support and guidance
  • Helping young people become independent
  • Keeping accurate records and writing reports
  • Transporting children to school, college, appointments, activities, contact. using homes vehicles
  • Attending to practical matters in relation to childcare (cooking, cleaning etc.)
  • Establishing positive relationships with young people and always offering them unconditional and positive regard
  • Meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural, cultural, and educational needs of young people
  • Acting as a role model and demonstrating appropriate prosocial ways of dealing with problems
