Description of the role:
The Product Manager is responsible for development, launch and management of a product. The role serves as a bridge between the users. The Product manager plays a crucial role in defining the product vison and strategy, gathering and prioritising the requirements, overseeing the value drops and the progress from conception to launch. The product manager identifies the customer need and the larger business objectives that a product or feature will fulfil, articulates what success looks like for a product, and rallies a team to turn that vision into a reality.
The project team and the business stakeholders (inc Procurement and the Markets or Global Teams) ensure that the product meets the business priorities while aligning with the users need.
Top accountabilities:
● Develop and articulate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with client's and Procurement's overall goals and strategies. Based on benchmarking, analysis and user feedback identifies the opportunities and product priorities. Owns the vision, the benefit case and the roadmap.
● Create and maintain a product roadmap that outlines the strategic direction, prioritisation of features, value drops. Collaborate with stakeholders on understanding the interdependencies and ensure alignment with the objectives of the business and procurement specifically.
● Value drop/feature definition: work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and collaborates with Product Owners/Process Analyst/Business Analyst on creating a compelling user story backlog
● Drive the product development process through the project team to ensure timely delivery of a high-quality solution that meets the users' expectations and business priorities.
● Collaborate with internal stakeholders and project team on developing the change strategy, including positioning the product across the stakeholder group – acting as the 'face' of the product and driving user adoption.
● Define key performance indicators and metrics to measure product success and track progress against goals. Analyse user feedback, usage data, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and inform product roadmap decisions.
● Be the voice of the customer within the organization. Build strong relationships with customers, gather feedback, and advocate for customer needs and priorities in product decision-making processes. Foster collaboration and alignment across cross-functional teams. Facilitate communications, remove blockers and ensure accountability through the product implementation/lifecycle.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field.
● Three or more years of experience in Product Manager/Lead Product Owner or Business lead in Procurement area
● Proven track record of delivering large scale transformation.
● Experience in successful delivery against financial/ resource constraints.
● Professional experience and knowledge of the industry is strongly preferred.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills
● Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to minimise overhead tasks for the team and manage interdependences with other teams
● Passion for building relationship and influencing skills, with the ability to foster an inclusive team culture
● Business acumen and understanding of the role of the capability in contributing to business value
