This Band 4 post is available immediately for a year initially.This is an ideal secondment opportunity that will give you the chance to learn about transnational research and the technologies we use in more detail, how we use cutting edge platforms to improve our diagnostic capabilities, experience transnational research and generally prepare you for the next stage in your career in laboratory medicine.
To follow established procedures and assist in the maintenance, preparation and review of operating policiesComply with health and safety policies

Data entry of patient sample details
Recording results / QC Information on laboratory information system (EPIC Beaker).
Laboratory tests are set up as appropriate for the designated team and prepared for analysis by genetic technologists / scientific staff.
Registration of research samples received into the laboratoryParticipate in general rota of technical staff for basic lab duties such as stock control, equipment maintenance and general housekeeping duties.

Biological Science / Genetics Degree (or equivalent experience)
Experience in molecular genetic / cytogenetic laboratories
Experience of molecular genetic / cytogenetic techniques
The recruitment process for all admin and clerical roles at Bands 2-4 will be a two stage recruitment process whereby shortlisted candidates will undertake an online literacy, numeracy, ICT and typing test.
