Are you a newly qualified Midwife, student Midwife or an experienced Midwife looking for an exciting opportunity? We are lookingfor Innovative, enthusiastic and motivated midwives to join our Maternity Service at NorthamptonGeneral Hospital. We have openings for you to use your skills withinour Inpatient Services which includes Labour Ward, Triage,Birth Centre and our Postnatal ward.
We are also looking for Midwifes who may be interested in working within one of our 4 newly built/refurbished CommunityHubs that are placed across West Northamptonshire. We also have opportunities in our Outpatient Service, which include, Continuity of Carer teams, Maternity Day Unitand ANCservices.

Main duties of the job
Our Maternity services include:
A modern 3 bed Birth Centre with birthing pools and 8 postnatal beds
8 bed consultant-led Labour Ward with a birthing pool.
Twodedicated Obstetric theatreswith a recoveryward
18 bed Maternity higher observation ward
In development a dedicated Bereavement Suite with garden
A Maternity Day Unit and Outpatient Clinic providingMidwifery Led Sonography services
23 bedded ward for inpatient antenatal and postnatal mothers and babies
Please note that this role includes on call and will be rotational within different areas of Maternity including inpatient & outpatient areas and community dependant on clinical need.
Main Duties
Responsible for providing holistic women centred midwifery care. To support the Senior Midwives in the execution of their role.
Promote and maintain professional standards ensuring midwifery practice is evidence based.
Promote midwife led care in partnership with other health professionals Provide effective input into the work of the Trust, to support the achievement of our vision and values:

To observe the NMC Code of Conduct. Patient/client care
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual programmes of care, ensuring clinical practice is clinically effective and research based.
Undertake relevant clinical practices in accordance with the Scope of Professional Practice Maintain standards of recordkeeping within the practice setting, utilising accepted standards where appropriate
Support the Ward Manager in clinical developments
Act on behalf of women, carers and staff to ensure their views are represented at all levelsProvide midwifery care to women during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods in all settings including womans home, GP, Childrens centres and hospital
Service development implementation
Assess and teach others in the clinical setting
Participate in Preceptorship and Mentorship within the clinical settings
Attend updates and refresher study session and mandatory study days Information resources
Input information and have a working knowledge of the hospital and Maternity information systems
Attend training and updates on implementation of Maternity Information System
