About the role
With 700,000 residents and a range of priorities from recruiting foster carers to fixing our roads, no two days are the same.
We're looking for a media and communications professional to plan, deliver and evaluate communications, majoring on media relations. Able to create compelling content, you'll have press office or media experience, an eye for a story and a grasp of print, broadcast, digital and social media.
You will:
• Tell the council's story through proactive media relations – and help run a traditional press desk, managing journalists' queries and helping to manage the council's reputation
• Deliver social and commercial marketing campaigns
• Engage stakeholders, staff and managers
• Plan creative design for print, digital, social and video
This post is politically restricted therefore the post holder is disqualified from undertaking certain political activities under the Local Government Officers (Political Restrictions) Regulations 1990.
